Trains derail, taxi drivers crash, fake taxi drivers kidnapp people, morons run red lights and crash their cars, maniacs stab people in subways, every single kind of transportation has it's modicum of danger. If you go too deep into it you might as well never leave your house. Plus, Uber drivers open the door for you!

Because Uber is revolutionary for its intelligent dispatch system assisted by what amounts to a nearly neural network of smartphones, as well as its market pricing. Also, since Google picked it up, Uber will eventually be run by autonomous cars that can't (hopefully) kill you and be way cheaper.
